Berangere's Carpe Diem Year...: 16th post: Mexico de mis amores....(extremely late but better than never!)

Dear Friends,

Mmmmh where do I start....or should I say how do I finish (as I am almost at the end of my trip !!).

Well to summarize...for those who last saw my blog #15 (New Caledonia) there has been lots of moves since then !...:
So I went back to Thailand to spend the last 15 days of 2011 including Christmas and New Year's Eve...then a jump in France (the shortest time possible !)...and then a big jump to Mexico (ole ole)...and finally crossing the Pacific Seas to the...Philippines (again!) where I am right now :-)...and will head back to Belgium within 3 days...ending a literally "1 year around the world" adventure!!

Yes...I know it is difficult to follow me...(don't ask me why I did all these strange moves but I am happy I did !). But soon it will be easier haha...when I'll be back and settled in Europe...ouch...

So this blog = MEXICO Jan-Feb 2012. Even if Mexico has been my home country for many years, I actually went back there as a backpacker (!), and besides visiting my friends in Mexico City, I went as a tourist to Baja California to see whales, dive with sea lions, and just lose myself between cactus and deserts...

I will try to summarize the highlights of this wonderful days in my lovely Mexico lindo y querido...:

- Mexico City: visit of my dearest friends...
Itzelita and her 3 Mosqueteers...just enjoying the days with her and them ! :-)
Andrea and Jorge...having a great time doing everything we could: dancing (in front of a public !), running (a race!), horse riding (to gather cattle in a ranch!), meeting new friends and dancing salsa :-)...wouahhh...
Aurorita (of course my dear!), Etniux (:-), Raul (flying on small aircraft above the pyramids !!), Marina & Julian, Alex & Moni, Jeanne & Christian, Bozena, Cris, Marco ...ohh sorry I can't mention everybody, but I had a really great time.
So sad I have almost no photos of many of these things...:-(

- Baja California: what an amazing place...I just loved it !!
With my travel buddy Andrea on the 1st week end for whale watching (amazing!) and Super Bowl partying !!
Then travelling on my own for few days in the beautiful desert landscapes of unending cactus, mountains and the blue Sea of Cortez...
I have also new friend in Loreto now, like Daniel, meeting new people is always nice :-)

After 2 days I was lucky enough to meet some really friendly Brazilians who I travelled with for almost all the rest of my trip :-)))
Fabio, Schirley, Marcelo and Co... what a great trip with you guys !! I enjoyed it a lot !
And the cherry on the cake...they are private pilots !! So, besides diving and visiting with them different parts of the lovely Baja, I had the super opportunity to actually fly with them on a Gulfstream G5 (correct me if I am wrong Fabio !) one of the best private jets today !!!
Amazing flight...as a princess...or a business woman...haha !! (just look at the pictures).

Continuing with the rest of our trip...THE hit of Baja California in Jan-Feb is whale watching...and touching !!! Yesss :-)
"I touched a whale! (and I liked iiiiit !)". You have no idea how much adrenaline it was to have these whales just beside our boat, could see them 50 cm in front my eyes, could touch them...my heart was beating 200 km/hour :-))))
Almost same-same happened with the diving and snorkelling with the sea lions....sooo cute and playful...like real puppies but underwater :-)

No time to detail all the other great things we did, from visiting the Hotel California (hummm the one from The Eagles song ??), to renting a 4x4 jeep to drive and dive in Cabo Pulmo...awesome trip !
