6th Special Post: Donations and Child Sponsoring - Dons et Parrainages

ENGLISH

Dear friends and family,

This time, I am not coming back to you with the news of my trip, but with the final work that I have done for the orphanage where I am volunteering in Kathmandu, Nepal.
As I previously told you, beside the daily activities with the family and children, I helped them by developing a website (blog) to promote their orphanage outside Nepal and also try to get some fundraising with NGOs and potential donors.
So here it is, please visit the link below:

It is in English and French :-) and I mention both the Nepalese orphanage and the French association "Les Enfants de Surya" (who supports the orphanage). This website contains all the information about the orphanage itself, the children, and how to help or support if you wish to do so.

There is absolutely NO obligation to donate, I am just sending you the link for you to know more about the children house, and if you still wish to cooperate a little bit or just forward the mail to some of your friends, it will obviously be a great help for this family and much appreciated ! :-).
If you decide to do so, please do it by contacting directly the orphanage in Nepal or the French association. There is no need to copy me, and this will also ensure transparency and confidentiality for you :-).
(Obviously if there is an issue I will be happy to help !).

Thanks for your interest and please receive all my best wishes...I will soon give you some more news on my trip...as I am leaving next wednesday for Vietnam !

Cheers, Berangere.

FRANCAIS

Amities, Berangere.

5th post: TIBET break...: from Kathmandu to Lhasa via Everest Base Camp

Dear Friends,

Such a long time without giving you any news...but that is because I was taking a 2 weeks break in Tibet, with my parents... A road trip from Kathmandu to Lhasa via the" Roof of the World": the Everest Base Camp.

For this post, I would rather let you enjoy the pictures, so the text will be very short...but you will see lots of pictures (the selection was difficult !).

Tibet in few words: warm people, breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural identity, incredible religious faith, beautiful places and monuments, and a huge influence and control of the Chinese government (with both positive and negative impacts)...

Last smiley note: I am very proud of my parents :-) who actually undertook the Everest Base Camp trip perfectly (just little sickness few times ;-)... On the same day we had to drive through 4 high passes above 5000 mts, drive on the unpaved and bumpy road for more than 10 hours (100 km x 2 but not in a 4x4 ;-), and drink 4 liters of water each within the 1st 12 hours to avoid altitude sickness at the base camp at 5200 mts high...hahaha !

I am now back at my orphanage in Kathmandu for 2 more weeks of volunteering (more to come soon...).

Hope you enjoy pictures, cheers, Berangere.
